S.F.N.M.H.C enhances and support the independent living of San Francisco mental health service consumers/survivors through mutual self-help. The network provides a safe place where consumers/survivors can meet and socialize and create opportunities for individuals empowerment with the goal of creating a self-reliant consumer/survivor community that will counteract stigma, prejudice and discrimination through outreach and education.
Network membership is free to all mental health consumers, past or present. It lasts as long as the member wants or is cancelled by the Board of Directors or the general membership.
SFNMHC has two projects:
-SPIRITMENDERS COMMUNITY CENTER
-VOICES AT BAY, a quarterly newsletter.
VOICES AT BAY seeks submissions from mental health consumers from the Bay Area. Articles included consist of art, poetry, photography, serious and non-serious writing,etc., etc. Submissions can be made to:
